How do I work at Adelaide Fringe?

Adelaide Fringe employs a small team of staff who work year round in administration, marketing, corporate partnerships, programming, production and artist services. As we gear up for Adelaide Fringe each year our team grows and a number of employment opportunities become available, details of which can be found here.

I’m a student doing some research on Adelaide Fringe – where can I find more information?

Adelaide Fringe receives numerous enquiries from students, which unfortunately we are unable to answer individually. Please use this website for reference - start by finding out more about us here.

Can you provide me with Fringe tickets or merchandise for my fundraiser?

Unfortunately we are not able to offer tickets or merchandise to organisations or events as we are a not-for profit incorporated organisation that operates as an umbrella organisation for artists. We do not own any of the tickets, run any of the ticketed shows or run the venues within the Fringe.

As an open-access festival, independent artists pay a fee to be registered in the Fringe and use their own funds to stage their productions and/or run their venues. Although Adelaide Fringe Inc. retains a small servicing and booking fee, the majority of the ticket sales income goes directly back to the artists.

We are therefore unable to give away artists’ tickets or merchandise.

Can you sponsor my event or organisation?

Unfortunately we are not able to sponsor your event or organisation. Adelaide Fringe is a not-for profit incorporated organisation that operates as an umbrella organisation for artists.

As an open-access festival, independent artists pay a fee to be registered in the Fringe and use their own funds to stage their productions and/or run their venues. Where is Adelaide Fringe?

Adelaide Fringe takes place in more than 400 venues across Adelaide’s CBD and suburbs, as well as extending to the regional centre of Port Augusta for Desert Fringe, Fringe in Mount Gambier, Fringe in Whyalla and Kangaroo Island Fringe. Venues are not run or operated by Adelaide Fringe. Instead the Fringe employs a venue coordinator to assist venues in gaining the most they can out of being part of the Adelaide Fringe program.

How do I apply to have a stall at next year’s Fringe?

Adelaide Fringe is an open access arts festival and as such we don’t run our own venues and therefore don’t coordinate any stalls for catering or goods for sale.

Venues make their own arrangements for stalls and catering and we therefore recommend contacting them directly.

Can you send me a printed copy of the Fringe Guide?

Unfortunately, due to high postage costs and resources, we are unable to post Fringe Guides.

The full Adelaide Fringe guide will be available online from late December 2019. You can also pick up a copy at any of our Box Offices, BankSA outlets and in shops and cafes around town.

Help! I’ve lost something at an Adelaide Fringe venue!

Adelaide Fringe is an umbrella organisation and as such, we don’t run individual venues. We recommend contacting the venue directly to enquire about lost property. Venue contact information can be found on our website by using the venue search option.

I’m not getting HalfTIX – what do I do?

If you need to sign-up for HalfTIX you can do that through the ‘MyFringe’ section of the site – you can find the button for it on the top-right of the page. Once you’re in there just click on ‘Update Details & Password’ to edit your email preferences or click here to be taken to the right page. If you’ve already signed up and you don’t get your email at 11.45am here are some things to check:
Have you looked in your spam folder, trash or under the ‘Promotions’ tab if you’re using Gmail?
Try adding ‘info@adelaidefringe.com.au’ to your address book or list of ‘safe senders’ so we don’t get caught in your spam filter.
There are some known rare issues with ISPs filtering bulk emails so if you are not getting your HalfTIX emails try changing your email address.
And finally remember you can always search the full list of HalfTIX shows on the website at 12pm each day

Age Suitability

How can I check the age suitability of a show so that I can take my children?

We will do our best to provide you with warnings about show content and age suitability, where the artist or presenter has passed that information onto us. Artists self-rate their shows, and as we are an open access festival, we can’t guarantee the content and suitability. Please use your discretion when determining suitability for your child, as there will be no exchanges or refunds on tickets purchased.

Audience Suitability Ratings
G - Suitable for all ages
PG - Parental guidance recommended
M - Recommended for audiences 15 years and over
18+ - Restricted to 18 years and over

All events are self-rated. Adelaide Fringe is not liable for any incorrect rating.

Many shows will not admit you if you are late, so plan accordingly in case you need to queue!

Searching For A Show

What’s the best way to search for a show?
Once we are on sale, use our search functions on the website to narrow down the program. You can search by time, date, genre, & venue and price type, or even search for what you're in the mood to see! You can also browse through our.physical Fringe Guide.

There are so many shows, can you recommend some?
Adelaide Fringe is a non-curated, open-access festival which means that anyone can participate and put on a show! In order to uphold our open-access nature, we must represent all shows equally, and so we cannot recommend specific shows over others.

We do have a few suggestions to help you choose the perfect show for you:

  • Create a Fringe Favourites list right here on our website and create a MyFringe login to access them on any device.
  • Check out Unfold Fringe in Rundle Mall activities and promotions.
  • Look out for critics' reviews in The Advertiser.
  • Ask your friends and family for suggestions on what they have seen (and if you see something you like, please shout about it)! Word of mouth is a great tool to assist audiences and performers alike.
  • Take a punt! Adelaide Fringe is all about experiencing something new!

General Troubleshooting

My computer crashed while I was trying to book, how do I know if my payment went through?
Please contact FringeTIX® on 1300 621 255 and we can assist you. If your payment has not gone through, we’ll be happy to help you re-book your tickets over the phone.

I can’t navigate to the Adelaide Fringe website, how long will it be down for?
It’s probably just a glitch and we’ll have everything back up and running very soon. In the meantime, please call FringeTIX® on 1300 621 255 who may be able to assist with your booking and/or enquiry.

I’m having trouble logging into my account online, can you help?
Please call FringeTIX® on 1300 621 255 and we can have a look at why you might be having trouble logging in. We can also help you with any enquiries relating to your bookings. If you’ve already booked tickets to this Fringe and forgotten your password, you’ll need to have it reset and emailed to you, you can do this online.

I can’t browse on my mobile device, is there a problem with the site or is it my phone?
It’s probably just a glitch and we’ll have everything back up and running very soon. In the meantime, please call FringeTIX® on 1300 621 255 who may be able to assist with your booking and/or enquiry. To assist us in identifying and resolving problems please email buzz@adelaidefringe.com.au with the details of the problem you experienced – including what make and model your mobile device is, what software version you are running, what you were doing at the time of the problem, and any screenshots you were able to capture.

I need to pay for my purchase using more than one voucher or credit card; can I do this on the mobile site?
Split payments can only be made on our desktop website, in person at a FringeTIX® outlet or over the phone on 1300 621 255.

My session timed out, but I need to buy lots of tickets – help!
Your session will time out after 60 minutes so you may need to book your tickets in a couple of transactions. We suggest you use the Fringe Favourites tool to save a short list of your tickets while you are finding the shows you want, and then add them to your cart at the end. Alternatively, if you know the shows, dates, times and number of people attending, call FringeTIX® on 1300 621 255 or visit one of our outlets, and we’ll be able to assist you with the purchase.

I entered my payment details and nothing happened, how do I know if I’ve been charged or my tickets have been booked?
Please call FringeTIX® on 1300 621 255 as soon as you can and we will check if your payment has been processed and your tickets booked. Please don’t attempt to purchase again, as it may result in a double charge to your credit card.

What does allocation exhausted mean?
Allocation exhausted means the show has sold out, or that the ticket type you have selected is no longer available. Must have been a popular choice! Don’t worry there are plenty of others for you to see.
